Fête de la science 2016

PLAS@PAR participated in the last Fête de la Science in Jussieu where high school students and general public have been visiting our booth from October 9th to 11th.

PLAS@PAR welcomed about 150 high school students, which had the opportunity to meet with researchers, visit the Laboratoire de Physique des Plasmas (LPP) and participated in a dedicated workshop about spectroscopy. They also experienced the Aurora phenomenon using a Planeterrella.

The main PLAS@PAR booth in Jussieu met a real success: over 500 people on Saturday and Sunday discussed with PLAS@PAR researchers, experimented the Planeterrella, tried to identify gaz from spectral lamps, discovered a 3D model thruster and a new hands-on experiment called « Plasma discharges – Langmuir probe ».

In addition, 3 conferences (Thierry Dufour, Martin Campos Pinto, Philippe Zarka) took place on the Campus.

The LCPMR also proposed experiments for the public on the Pierre et Marie Curie campus.

Finally, the Paris Institute of NanoSciences (INSP)  organized the visit and presentation of its electron cyclotron resonance ions source (SIMPA) for about 150 people (80 high school students and 70 more general visitors).

We would like to warmly thank all visitors but also all researchers, engineers and staff involved in this event. It was a pleasure to contribute to this large event organised by both UPMC and Sorbonne University.

See you next year!

Fête de la science 2015

Plas@Par participated in the last Fête de la Science in Jussieu where high school students and the general public has been visiting our booth from October 9th to 11th.

The main Plas@Par booth in Jussieu received about 400 people during the event, where the Planeterrella experiment was a major success!

The LCPMR also offered experiments for the public on the Pierre et Marie Curie campus.

Finally, the Paris Institute of Nanosciences (INSP) organized the visit and presentation of its electron cyclotron resonance ions source (SIMPA) for about 200 people (140 students and 50 more general visitors).

It was a pleasure taking part in this large event organised by both UPMC and Sorbonne University.
